What is Smart City?

Smart city is an integrated city managed on advanced technology in a secured manner to manage the assets – city’s local departmental stores, information desks, kids school, libraries, transport system, hospitals, power generation, and basic amenities & required services. The mission of smart city is to improve quality of life by latest technology and improve the services for residents.

A smart city uses integrated information system to communicate and improves performance along with interactivity of urban needs, reducing costs and consumption; this improves coordination between residents and government. Sectors that are working on developing smart city include government body, transport management, energy, health department, water renewal, innovative agricultural plans and waste management. Technology Utilized to drive business and fulfilling all needs of community residing in that city. Technology helping in guiding the paths of city & playing a medium for interaction between officials & community to manage city infrastructure and plan it in advance. Using real-time sensors data is collected of citizens and processed to get results in real-time. The information captured is keys to track efficiency and do the changes for betterment.

A Smart City Delhi is a urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology (ICT) solutions in a secure fashion to manage a city’s assets – the city’s assets include, but not limited to, local departments information systems, schools, libraries, transportation systems, hospitals, power plants, law enforcement, and othercommunity services. The goal of building a smart city is to improve quality of life by using technology to improve theefficiency of services and meet residents’ needs. ICT allows city officials to interact directly with the community and the city infrastructure and to tell what is happening in the city, how the city is evolving, and how to enable a better quality of life. Through the use of real-time systems and sensors, data are collected from citizens and objects - then processed in real-time. The information and knowledge gathered are keys to tackling inefficiency.[
